Color and dimming wheels add a dynamic dimension to the creative possibilities of fiber optic lighting. A variety of colors are available in a standard four and eight color wheel, or any multitude of combinations can be achieved with any of 16 different colors. Color wheels can be purchased in two material types. Dichroic coated glass and/or Lexan Vinyl coated. Dichroic coated glass color wheels are used for metal halide light sources. While Lexan wheels with Vinyl color filters are used for halogen light source applications. Vinyl color and sparkle wheels are used for endpoint applications to add color and sparkle to starfield ceilings, pavings and endpoint signage. Dimming wheels are made of dichoric glass and aluminum and are available in a variety of patterns to achieve any number of dimming effects.
